The month of fashion weeks has just begun and I couldn’t be more excited.  The Cut, one of my favorite fashion blogs posted on 100 designer inspirations for their Spring 2011 Collections.  I can’t wait to go back to this link after the shows and figure out if you can truly match the inspiration boards/pictures to the collections.

Click HERE for the full slideshow.

Below are my favorites with the ultimate being Marchesa.  I always look forward to the detailed craftsmanship and with their Orientalist inspiration, the details should be stunning.

Marchesa "Orientalist"

Badgley Mischka "White Mischief"

Alexander Berardi "Breathless"

Bibhu Mohapatra "Charley"

Cushine Et Ochs "Peel"

1940’s Southern Belle

After having watched the Notebook a couple of nights ago, for the 100th time, I was inspired.  Allie’s style, played by Rachel McAdams, has always intrigued me. The movie was set in a 1940’s South Carolina town with a southern belle as the leading lady.  From her hair accents to her rompers, Allie has an elegant flair notorious of the rich elite of the South.  The 1940’s were defined by everything feminine and flattering which lasts whenever, forever.  BE INSPIRED.

My Romantic Retreat

with one comment

I am feeling very romantic and feminine these days, actually it has been since the beginning of 2010.  I want anything girly and delicate.  Whether it be a bouquet of pink peonies or vanilla cupcakes with pink frosting or a blush lace dress.  It all started when I got engaged and lace became ever more present in my wardrobe.  I started wanting more delicate furniture in my house instead of contemporary.  And the list goes on.  Therefore, I created inspiration boards to share.  BE INSPIRED!

Megan Fox in Azzedine Alaia

Newly married Megan Fox chose one of my favorite designers, Azzedine Alaïa, to the VH1 Do Something Awards in Hollywood.  She wore a tan colored frock with matching Brian Atwood pumps and you can’t go wrong with either Alaia or Atwood.  I love that this dress is a delightful departure from her usual super sexy all-baring outfits.

The Tunisian born designer is a favorite among the world’s most influential fashion industry insiders. He is synonymous for his flattering dresses and avoiding the limelight.  I  wish I owned a little black Alaïa, someday I’ll save up for one, because his silhouette has lasted decades and will continue to do so.

Find wardrobe staples such as a little black dress or a white blouse or a camel coat and invest in them. They will never go out of style so quality and fit are vital.  BE INSPIRED!

Mixing Prints

I saw this picture on Fabsugar.com and had to share it with you.  I have been wanting to post on the mixing prints trend forever ago and never got to it. I feel that this editorial image is the perfect inspiration.  Hopefully the picture above and my collage below will encourage you to mix prints in your fashion and interior design choices.

While shooting for Gossip Girl, one of my favorite shows, in Paris this week, Blake Lively looked absolutely stunning in wide leg pants, neutral tank, and a grey bra.

Cher dancing with Christian

Confederacy, an LA boutique, got Calvin Klein’s Francisco Costa to remake the famous slinky white Calvin Klein slip-dress that Cher wore in Clueless.  We all remember the scene when Cher walks down the staircase for a date with Christian and her dad asks “What are you wearing” and she replies “a dress”.  Her father then responds “says who?” and she quickly anwers “Calvin Klein”.

All the blogs are blogging about the dress but as an inspiration blog I wanted to bring us back to Clueless fashion. It is by far one of the best chick and chic flicks ever.  Cher was shopping at Fendi and wearing Azzedine Alaïa, she was what we call, ‘on top of fashion’.  And ladies, please admit that you STILL dream of the computer that stores every single item of your wardrobe and helps you create outfits!
