What a wedge!

leave a comment »

I am seriously hyperventilating, BIG TIME!

I have a love for shoes, maybe a better choice of words would be obsession.  But after seeing these Charlotte Olympia for Peter Som Spring 2011 wedges, it just got a lot worse.  Crazy for, obsessed with, dreaming of are all not enough to explain what I am feeling.  Waiting til spring will be a true killer, especially when I am waiting for these must-have wedges.

The black and nude lace is my favorite but the blush lace is more spring appropriate.  Can you see the frill on the top part of the heel! The wedges are feminine mixed in with a little bit of naughty, every girl’s dream.

My hunt for these will begin from now and I will get my hands on a pair!!

I’ll cut right to chase.  So far it has been all about the whites, sheers and school boy collared shirts.  Could we get any more minimalist? Probably not, but minimalist is one of my favorite styles, so I am pretty satisfied with the spring 2011 collections, so far. Now onto the real business…

Is mixing prints still a trend? Whatever, even if it isn’t, this outfit is simple, comfortable, and chic which are all perfect for resort wear.  The black and white nautical stripes matched with a brown belt is a great way to play around with neutrals.

Bensoni

I have to admit I have a cropped tee obsession so when I came across this cropped chemise, I died.  Chemises are clean but Doo. Ri managed to make them both clean and hip.  Matched with a wide-legged pant, this look is more than perfect.

To me, this Ports 1961 dress is the definition of chic steaming from its modesty.  A little Faye Dunaway maybe? I also love the hair and make-up!

This Costello Tagliapietra dress is impeccably cut and wonderfully flowy.

For a little more edge while remaining to be minimal, this Rag & Bone sheer skirt maxi dress is fabulous.  The color combination of neutrals remind me of my mother, which is a good thing in this case.

Rag & Bone

With one of the most talked about new designers showing early on in fashion week, picking just one of his looks was not enough.  I narrowed it down to my two favorite looks.  The first being a powerful cream short suit matched with the most stunning feminine black bow-tie blouse.  The second is a beautiful cocktail dress, the one I would most want to own/wear out of the whole collection.

The O.M.G. moment of the 2&3 days came from none other than Christian Siriano.  I can’t say the O.M.G., in this case, implies anything positive.  Honestly, what was he thinking? Why the huge ruffles, almost double the model’s width, in an florescent red that I don’t think even existed before this dress? Even on a model this dress isn’t flattering.  Talk about extravagance!

Below are some of my favorite looks from Day 1 of NYFW.  I don’t think an intro is necessary in this post other than, I couldn’t be more excited.

I love this Lyn Devon look because it is both feminine and masculine at the same time.  The cropped trouser is a spring take on the fall trouser trend.

This look makes me picture a modern-day GatsbyI love the cropped cardigan with a maxi skirt.  The volume created by the hat is to die for and it is organic too.

The styling of the outfit below is fabulous.  Who doesn’t love black and white?  The layering of the skirt and the belt add a tough edge to white blouse.

Sachin + Babi

The willowy white boho dress with rockin’ boots and a huge collared jacket make you really think that mixing and matching does work.  I totally picture a model strutting her stuff in Stockholm in this outfit.

Nicholas K

And for the O.M.G. moment of the day, Nicholas K styled his collection with a belly dancer belt inspiration! See below what I mean!  It is tied the exact same way and I am crazy for the inspiration coming from my roots.

Beauty: Les Khakis de Chanel for Fashion Night Out

Les Khakis de Chanel

Last Fashion Night Out (FNO) it was Jade and this year it is Les Khakis de Chanel.  Does Chanel really have to make me feel like I missing out any more than I already do?  I am dreaming of being in NYC for FNO and now I am jealous of every girl in the big apple that will get her hands on one of these beyond fabulous nail polishes.  My survival is solely based on the slightest hope that they will be sold internationally a month later and hopefully not exclusively in Paris, which is a rumor I have heard.

The collection, which includes Khaki Brun, Khaki Rose, and Khaki Vert, is dead-on fall 2010.  With a monochromatic fall season, what better than a monochromatic nail polish collection by the beyond amazing Chanel.  Thanks to Peter Phillips, creative make-up director, we have a fall beauty obsession!

Everyone has picked a favorite shade, as for me, I want them all! BE INSPIRED.
